We are looking for a bright, energetic individual to work the general supervision of the Project Manager or the Project Leader, to conduct the informed consent process for volunteer subjects in a clinical diabetes study. The Counselor will become fully trained on the clinical protocol prior to initiating the study. The counselor will contact potential subjects by telephone and conduct a preliminary interview to establish eligibility. Upon ascertaining eligibility, the counselor will make an appointment for the subject to receive individual consent counseling and to participate in the clinical study. The counselor will conduct the consent process for 1 to 12 subjects per day during the clinical study. During the consent process, the counselor will establish a clear understanding of the clinical study procedures with each subject, answer any questions and oversee the signing of the consent documents. The Counselor will co-sign the documents as a witness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, medical technology, business or related discipline; or combination of education, training and directly related experience
- 0-2 yrs experience in product development and improvement process in a quality system environment
- Must have excellent verbal, written and phone communication skills
- Must be able to convey detailed information both orally and written
Proficient in WORD and Excel
